The Explanations
This statement leads one to the question, “How does the learner conduct himself?” A good learner does the following:
  1. Understands what he is being taught.

  2. He receives the teachings with joyfulness and gladness of heart.

  3. He puts them into practice, immediately and thenceforth.

  4. He earnestly desires more teachings. He does not wait for teachings to be repeated, for that would mean he is not progressing. Many students would complain if the teacher is always repeating the same teaching. By the time the teacher knows it, the students would have reported him to the school principal.

  5. He does not wait to be told, persuaded, reminded, praised or forced before he does the right thing.

  6. He complies with the instructions given to him.

  7. Very interestingly, if he taught a new thing, he learns so many things from the few teachings. Such a person is a wise person. For example, if a lady is told not to rob cortex on the fingers, she does not need to be told not to rob it on the toes and not to rob lipstick.
